CTA approved seven projects for R & D that will mobilize an investment of 4.1 million.

The Executive Committee of Andalusia Technology Corporation (ATC), meeting at its headquarters in Seville, has approved seven new projects in R & D, which will mobilize a total private investment of 4.1 million.

In a note, CTA noted that the pace of submitting projects for funding of the entity indicates that the Andalusian companies "maintain their commitment to innovation despite the difficult economic situation.

With the new incentive initiatives, the Corporation and 235 projects total R & D in strategic sectors and production processes Aerospace, Agri-Food, Biotechnology, Energy and Environment, Information Technology and Communication (ICT) and emerging sectors, especially the culture industry.

The new projects will be implemented in Cordoba, Huelva, Malaga and Sevilla, mobilize a business investment of 4.1 billion and will receive incentives from CTA 1.2 million. In them, for ten research groups from the Universities of Cadiz, Cordoba, Granada and Seville, in addition to the Andalusian Institute of Agricultural and Fisheries Education (IFAP).

These research groups will receive 665,350 euros for subcontracted work, representing 20.3 percent of the budget of the projects encouraged. This proportion is five points above the minimum required 15 percent share of the research groups in projects so that they can receive funding from the Corporation, indicating that firms choose to voluntarily extend their collaboration because they find the benefits exploit the knowledge generated by the scientific world.

NEW PROJECTS:

Among the approved projects is the initiative of Tino Stone Group called 'Scanpro' for the synthesis and characterization of new cleaning products, treatment and protection for natural stone, Tino Stone Group, in addition to 'NAMAC' Montealto Infrastructure, which incorporates the use of carbon fibers and nano-structural materials for new construction.

Also, approved projects related to agriculture, such as 'Sativa' - the Foundation of Social and Cultural Caja Rural del Sur, and Castañera Ovipor Serrana - which aims to use integrated pest control in chestnut cultivation as an alternative in the production of cured ham quality in the Sierra de Huelva.

In the energy sector, has encouraged the initiative 'Spotrac' Green Power Technologies for the development of technologies to optimize energy efficiency in rail transport, or 'Cemeace' of Dete and Adevice Solutions, for a building control for improving energy efficiency and savings in electricity consumption.

Finally, CTA approved the project 'New Scene' from CHEMTROL Theater Division, to obtain a new generation of systems for theaters stage, besides the feasibility study 'Channel Innova-tion', of Neteman.
