TINO - A Brief History
The TINO Stone Group SA was founded in Spain, in 1984, by Antonio Valdés Cosentino. At that time, the company´s activity was based on the mining of natural stone from Spanish quarries. It had just one product - Blanco Macael marble which it supplied to marble warehouses and workshops for use in traditional developments along the coast of Spain. Then, in 1996, TINO revolutionised the natural stone market with the introduction of its `Evolution´ concept - a collection of refined stone finishes or `textures´ that presented the traditional product in an entirely new and innovative light. Tempo - the first textured marble - is an example of this concept and today remains one of the company´s most popular products. Thanks to the vision of its founder Antonio Valdés Cosentino, TINO continues to lead the field in terms of innovation and design. Over the last 22 years the company has continued to evolve its capabilities and now, as well as operating marble, limestone and sandstone quarries, it has a large scale manufacturing operation plus an international network of inspirational retail galleries. Today, TINO is a market leader in natural stone with an annual turnover of 40m euros. The company prides itself on the quality of its textured products and cutting-edge service. Its products are exported all over the world - throughout Asia, the Middle East, the US and Europe. Stylish flooring, wall-coverings, staircases, cladding, facades and other stone features can be found in some of the most prestigious buildings around the globe including The Ritz Hotel in Singapore, Barney´s in Beverley Hills, the Royal Palace in Kuwait and Real Madrid´s Restaurant at Bernabeu Stadium. In an ongoing quest to stimulate the industry to consider the myriad of uses of natural stone in interior design and construction, TINO has created state-of-the-art urban stores. Situated in major cities around the world, customers can see, touch and be inspired by the different textures on display. Customers include professionals and students from the world of architecture and interior design, as well as some private individuals with high purchasing power. The launch of the company´s latest store in Central London heralds the arrival of TINO in the UK. www.tinostone.com For further press information, please contact: Helen Parker or Caroline Other at EHPR T: 01753 844044/ 01753 844056 E: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
